Scully asked:

Years ago I had a Hoover, that used vacuum bags. My hubby found a rubber (or plastic) 4″ X 1″ bag slide.

After removing the disposable bag from the vacuum cleaner, one could open the vaccum bag at the top end to empty it and re-use the bag over and over by refolding the top 3 times and placing the slide clip over it, to re-seal the bag.

This meant that the disposable bags could and did last for ages (ever actually as I bought 5 bags) and only used 2 in the whole time I had the Hoover. It never came loose or damaged the paper.

However once the old vacuum died, I moved to a bagless model and chucked away the disposable bags (along with the clip). Does anyone know where in Adelaide one could buy another…or anything that would do a similar job, as I have just purchased a Kirby (Ultimate G AUS$780 from Cash Converters) and the bags are a bit pricey I’ve heard.

babyonboard
